October (Extraordinary Meeting)
Draft Minutes of Extraordinary Meeting of Parish Council
held at the village hall on Tuesday 29th October 2024 at 7:30p.m.
Present: Cllrs D Lofthouse (Chair) B Hunter (Vice Chair) C Saywell, J Pilbrow, J Lofthouse
Also present: The Clerk and one member of the public
1. Apologies for absence – none
2. Co-option of Councillors:
a). To consider applications received and invite applicant(s) to address the Council in support of their application.
One prospective Councillor attended and made a presentation.
b). To vote and resolve co-option of applicants:
Rosie de Smit was unanimously voted onto the Council, and she signed the Declaration of Acceptance.
Note: There is still one vacancy to fill.
Action: Advertise on website and in newsletter.
3. Resolve to update the Councillors’ Responsibilities document.
Responsibilities to be filled include Safeguarding, Village Environment, Roads and Highways. The Chair suggested an Environment Group could be set up (amalgamating Village Environment, Roads and Highways).
Action: To be added on next agenda. Also to revisit the Safeguarding Policy – Colin Saywell to look at the wording.
4. Resolve to update the Emergency Plan –
Action: Colin and the clerk to rewrite in view of change of personnel before next meeting.
Action: Clerk to contact Steve Eason-Harris.
