Village Field Update for Claxby Parish Council Meeting November 23rd 2023
Maintenance (excluding grass cutting). A further 22 hours of volunteer time since the last update in September. The work undertaken has included mowing of the perimeter, some levelling and infill of uneven areas within the field using donated top soil.
Outstanding work includes improving the entrance to the car park, the pedestrian entrance to the lower field and some further digging out of the ditch at the top of the field. This requires support. Quotes have been sought.
Councillor Jenny Lofthouse has made an application to L.W.C.S for the cost of the work. The grant application also includes grass seed and bulbs. We will hopefully know in December if our application has been successful.
Play Equipment We have received a play equipment check list. This is now being used when play equipment checks are made. Following the official inspection many of the recommendations suggested in the report have been actioned. Councillor Pilbrow will be attending a Play Inspection Course in March 2024. It is a course organised by LALC.
Update from the Upper Field Working Party Councillor J Lofthouse completed the application form for a West Lindsey District Council Grant. We have been awarded £25,000.00. Thank you to all who have contributed to the working party to date and especially to Councillor Lofthouse for her successful application. We will be continuing to apply for grants over the following months.
We hope to be able to plant some bulbs into the woodland areas of the field soon.
