Overspend 7.01
If a grant is available for the King’s Coronation would the Parish Council approve covering
the overspend from this grant?
b. Remaining activities
Since the previous report to the Parish Council in November 2022 the following events have taken place:-
i. Planting of an English Royal Oak Tree on the village playing field.
ii. Placing of plaques for the oak tree and the Queen’s Jubilee Garden.
iii. Production of 3 photographic collages for:-
- the Village Hall – the Parish Council to approve.
- Viking Centre
- St Mary’s Church
The cost for each of the 3 collages has yet to be finally determined but will be approximately £41 incl VAT (£20.46 for the collage 50cmx75cm and £20.40 for the frame).
Would the Parish Council approve paying for the cost of the collage for the village hall? (The Viking Centre and Church to pay for their collages)
2. King’s Coronation
Draft programme
i. Friday May 5th evening : Family Fun Quiz : Viking Centre
ii. Saturday May 6th No event arranged so residents can watch the Coronation on TV.
iii Sunday May 7th
am : Service in Normanby church
3.00pm : concert in Claxby church
4.15pm : tea and cakes at the Viking Centre
iv Monday May 8th
am set up Art and Craft display
pm
- Art and Craft display in VH
- Open Gardens with Royal Family Scarecrow Trail around the village – all villagers to be invited to make a themed scarecrow.
- Trail finishes at the playing field for prizes and BBQ. BBQ cost covered by grant if available – if not people pay for e.g. burgers to cover their cost.
- Bonfire to be located in dog walking field.
- Village marquee to be used and VH open for toilets and refreshments.
If a grant is available for the King’s Coronation would the Parish Council approve
expenditure from this grant for the Coronation celebrations?
