Claxby Community Choir was formed by local musician and singer Karen Beer in 2019 as a way of bringing together the many talented people in Claxby and surrounding villages, to sing for pleasure but also to perform concerts to raise money for local causes.

From an initial group of 20 singers, membership has grown to 55 singers, with singers coming from surrounding communities too. Repertoire ranges from the classics to arrangements of popular songs, madrigals, folk songs and Songs from the Shows, with something to satisfy the tastes of all audiences.

The choir's inaugural performance was a Christmas concert in 2019 in Claxby church to a packed audience. Since then, very successful concerts have been given in Nettleton, Holton-le-Moor, Tealby, Walesby, Osgodby, North Kelsey, Normanby and Middle Rasen.

The Coronation was celebrated at Claxby on May 7th 2023 with a full church audience enjoying light music and a stunning version of the coronation anthem Zadok the Priest to finish the concert. The choir’s largest performances to date have been at Market Rasen Methodist Church in June 2023 and 2024. The choir was also invited to sing at the West Lindsey District Council Civic Carol Service in Market Rasen in Christmas 2023 and was very excited to be invited to appear as guests on the professional touring show Tenors Unlimited at Gainsborough Trinity Arts in Saturday November 2024.
