Support your village hall by attending some of the regular events. It's a warm, welcoming inclusive space, available to all. It's your hall. Please use it!
The Village Hall Committe has been working hard to complete the refurbishment and much has been done, but there are still a few improvements to be made. Pop in and see for yourself. Afternoon tea is served on the second Wednesday of every month so come for a tea and a warm space to chat.
All the works has been funded by grants - a Lottery Grant of £8000, a match funding grant of £8000 from WLDC and a grant of £7000 from Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service. This means that the hall has been renovated without any cost to the Parish but will benefit all residents.
Much of the work has been done by volunteers on the village hall committee - led by David Lofthouse and John Clark on the manual side of things and Jenny Lofthouse and Diane Clark working tirlessly behind the scenes. Thanks too to the many villagers who have donated useful items to the hall.
Improvements include:
- The hall is now fully accessible, with a wheelchair ramp and handrail (soon to be installed), an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities, and a stairlift, with a folding wheelchair at the top of the stairs for accessing the toilet.
- Patio area at the back.
- Fire safety requirements are now met, with new smoke alarms, fire extinguishers and new fire doors.
- The interior has been completely redecorated; window shutters have been added, a new picture rail has been installed for art exhibitions and a new defibrillator.
- There are new window units and new infra red heaters.
- The kitchen has been completely refurbished.
Watch this space for more updates, to include a purpose built storage unit at the side of the building.
